Creating a transparent ceiling component

I am trying to make a ceiling component render transparent with color.  I want it to look like the colored resins by 3form.  When I make my image file a material and add even the lowest transparency setting, it cancels out the color.  I've tried using several materials such as frosted glass, clear plastic, epoxy resin, etc. and I am confronted with the same problem.  I've been working with Revit for a couple of years, so I'm still learning.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

Should be doable. Let's take a look at your file.

Hello,

Unfortunately, the file exceeds the maximum file size.  Attached is an example of one of the numerous things I've tried, that I thought would work.  Even when I take the transparency and translucency down to the lowest levels, it still appears completely translucent.  Hopefully, that helps explain some.

Thanks!

I think I finally figured it out.  It helped when I used the "override graphics in view ."
