Createan HVAC Plan

If I want to create a Mechanical plan for my eyes only for coordination, and one that will not have all the HVAC ducts that are on the ‘real’ MEP plans, is the process to start a new project with the Mechanical template, and insert the Architectural model? The Autocad procedure equivalent would be to xref the Architectural plan into a new drawing.

What would be the best way to bring that ductwork only into my architectural model?

1 - To create the ductwork - you would need to link the architectural model into the mechanical model. 

2 - To bring the ductwork into the architectural model once it is created - link the mechanical model into the architectural model.

I did do that but was having problems with the Level labels, since they are
different. I will try again. Thank you!

You can hide items from the Arch model in the Mech model, and vice versa. Go into VG and look for RVT Links. Select the linked file and you will be able to control the visibility of Model / Annotation elements and Worksets.

When I go into VG > Revit Links, the model is listed but there are no categories to turn off. I am trying to turn off the Mech reference's Levels..

Found how to do it:

Went to VG > Revit Links > Selected the referenced file title > Selected Custom under the Basics tab on the RVT Link Display Window ? Go to Annotation Categories > Select Custom in the drop down > and turn off the category. Whew!!

When you come to the part of VG that lists the links, click on Host View under Display Settings - that will take you to where you need to be to c ontrol visibility of the link
