Create mass from already-imported instance of survey

I have grabbed additional topography from Cadmapper and want to use the buildings to create a mass.

Am I unable to do it without re-linking the reference file? If I link within In-Place Mass mode, can I still use the topography to create a toposurface?

Is there a way to grab some of these buildings and create a generic model from the import instance? Or would I have to remove unwanted buildings from the reference file before importing?

I don't want to import because I already have an instance in the project which was used for creating toposurface.

Dunno. I'd have to see it.

What happens if you Import and do a Partial Explode?

You can trace them selectively using mass forms or generic models directly in Revit.  Or WBLOCK them to another DWG and link/import the DWG in an in-place mass or in-place generic model.
