Hello all,
How can I create an element (let's say a pipe) in specific coordinates in Revit? I received the coordinates information X,Y,Z for different pipes that I need to create in the georeferenced model that I have.
I tried to create a sphere , check its coordinates and move it manually in the coordinates that I wanted. After I created the pipe in this position .
Is there any other smarter way to do that ?
Thank you in advance!

Not sure I understand. the question, @mairh_tsek. All geometry has spatial coordinates. Revit orients geometry "spatially" relative to datums (e.g. Levels and Grids) -- and other geometry.
Ok, for example, they measured by laser, the coordinates( x,y,z ) for the lowest point of this cable (see image). I need to create this cable in Revit, in these coordinates.
x: 2490471,24
Y: 1203179,97
Z: 454,70
the Revit model is georeferenced, So project Base point and survey point have coordinates too
How can I do it ?
Thank you for your time.
I think that you can try this:
Constantin Stroescu
So it's located at E/W: 2490471,24 N/S: 1203179,97, Elev: 454,70 in the Revit -- assuming that the Revit Project's Survey Origin is the same as the CAD Origin.
Maybe this is the right answer. Maybe not. This is not a question for us.
I just have the coordinates in an excel file. And I want to find in revit where they correspond in order to create the cables.
if you have the table of coordinates in Excel then the work is almost done..
Constantin Stroescu
then on what do you want to place your objects?

I have to make a correction to my last post.
Instead :
wherever you move in your Site View you will move in a space that share the same values with your Excel file values.......
Should be:
wherever you move in your 3 d MODEL you will move in a space that share the same values with your Excel file values.......

Huh? This is very confusing, @mairh_tsek . Can you post this Excel file?
