Create a level with ability to have floor to floor heights etc.

It makes zero sense to me for levels to add up to overall height. I want to see the info when I'm working on the model (& like a contractor would want to see when building) of the floor to floor height, top of plate height (stud height) for the individual levels etc.

In cad I take the time to make sure this is all clear to the contractor (and myself) with my levels and would like to do something similar in revit.

Is dimensioning between the various levels in section the only way I'm going to be able to handle this in revit.... even with a custom level?

The big issue I have with dimensioning between levels is it just clutters up the sections and makes the notes more difficult to place etc.

Thoughts?

Also, can I get rid of the "+" that is in front of every single level dimenison? "+" is assumed. Only need to show "-" for elevations. Clutters up the drawings and hurts my eyes.

Edit the symbol family and format the label to get rid of +.

It may make zero sense to you, but the building height is very important to us, but that is beside the point.

More to the point, no, you can't make the actual levels display the plate height but you can use a properly configured relative Spot Elevation tagging the Level and referencing the level below instead of a dimension:

You could redefine the Level to not have a symbol if the duplicate targets bother you, or define the spot elevation to not have a target, or any of a variety of symbol options so they read as you would like them to.
