Blender is able to read DXF. So you have to use that format when importing into Blender.

There is an export function under CAD Format>DXF

What do you mean?
I do not have Revit.
I was asking how to convert a rfa to Dxf or other format for free. Revit is
like expensive.

Do you not see the solution I've given? I already converted the file to DXF.

OH! Sorry. Did not notice that. But is there a way I can convert it myself
if I ever need to?
And sorry again I did not see that you already converted it!

No prob...if you want to convert online, you may have to look at Revit to IFC converter. However it will cost a small fee

Downloads Revit and convert as many as you can within the 30-day trial period... Tick Tock

A lot of Manufacturers that provide CAD and BIM content - including Kohler - provide DXF as well.

Shame on Autodesk for intentionally creating proprietary file formats with no way to convert them without paying for their software. It's high time to change this stale monolithic corporate business model.

Shouldn't you post this complain on 3DS forum?

I fail to see what the "exported platform" has to do with what the actual problem is. I don't use any Autodesk programs and struggle with the same problem...a proprietary platform to extort users on a annual basis with no options otherwise. And don't get me wrong...I am held captive by my CAD software company as well...it stinks but it's the reality. In the meantime I am still looking for a solution to the same problem...converting a RFA file to something I can use...

Hi, I stumbled across your solution while trying to answer the same question as the poster. And, like the poster, don't have access to Revit, but need to use a model in blender. I know it's a lot to ask, but could you grace me with the same conversion? I've hit a brick wall trying to covert or otherwise open this model.

Thank you!

I'm having the same problem! Is someone able to convert this file for me? Then maybe give me a few tips for converting it to 2D files that can be used with autocad LT?

Thanks so much!
