Convert curved element into straight element

Hello everybody,

I am currently trying to model a church with Revit. The church is composed of ribbed vaults. I followed a very nice tutorial to make the roof: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/revit-products/learn-explore/caas/screencast/Main/Details/8b7... .

The thing is that in order to use my model in another software, I need the model to be only composed of polygones. And I would like if there is a way to configure the curves into straight lines and choose the accuracy (number of lines) ? In revit or maybe autocad ?

Thank you in advance for your help !

Try exporting a 3D View to FBX and importing it into your other software.

Thanks for answering so fast. I am sorry I forgot to precise the other software is ODEON (acoustic simulation) and it only accepts dxf files. I would like to make the changes before importing the model.

Import FBX to 3ds Max, make modifications there and then export DXF

Thanks for the answers. I imagine that if you tell me to you 3DS Max that's because there is some tools to convert the curves into segments. I will try it out and tell you if the problem is solved !

@barthbradley The screencast is indeed very interesting but I did not do it myself !

You can also export to dwg and convert it to line or polyline segments in AutoCAD.
