Sharing Materials between versions

is it possible to share materials library between Revit versions?

OK, so I dont need to create separate libraries for each version i.e. 2015, 2016, etc. and try to maintain and upkeep of the libraries.

MATERIAL libraries , not content libraries. Big difference. Revit is not backward compatible.  I thought we were talking about sharing too., not managing and maintaining. Personally, I'd keep legacy adsk libraries intact.

Correct, i was talking about sharing the Materials library "OfficeMaterials.adsklib" between Revit 2015/16/17/18.

Content i know you can't share.
