Connecting Roofs

I am working on a project for a client where we are adding an addition to their existing home and creating another gable roof to tie into the rest of the home. I am having issues getting this highlighted part to not show! It just important to show the existing roof in this bathroom and how it slopes because there is no ceiling.

If anyone has any suggestions as to how I can make this roof tie in and not show all the way through, that would be super helpful. I hope I explained this well!

Have you tried the "Join roof" option in revit?

Make sure the the roof joining the next one does not extend above the first roof and is drawn outside of the outer boundary.

  1. Use Phasing? Existing vs New
  2. If you do not want to use phasing, Hide it using
    • Hide Element (select/right click)
    • Hide it using a Filter
    • add it to a workset which is switched off in that view
    • Add it as a design option

Lots of ways to hide things in Revit

I did use the join roof option! It still is cutting in which is odd. Does it make a difference whether I do roof by footprint or extrusion?

No it should not make a difference, is there a chance you could sent an example file?
