Connecting Railings?

Okay, not the best question to try and explain, and I can't take screenshots, so I will do my best for explaining,

When you make stairs you get a railing with it, if not you can make your own,

so I have stairs but I also have platforms, or a catwalk at the tops of the stairs some at the bottom with railings as well,

where they meet they don't connect the ones on the stairs are higher then the ones on the platform, changing the elevation doesn't work. I know there can be Transitions or Extension Style, if that was what I would need to do, I don't see the options there, unsless I'm looking in the wrong spot.

Can anyone tell me what I can change,

Thank you.

Yes like that,

I found the others ways I had mentioned I couldn't find before, I can edit it but making any of the changes doesn't change anything.

look at the properties of the railing on the stair versus the railing on the platform...they should be identical.
