Component cannot change height of panel

Hello I downloaded this panel from bim object and I cannot seem to change the height of the panel. Does anyone know how to change the height of the panel. I tried doing a curtain wall but when doing a opening it would not fill in around the opening when I click on edit.

What kind of Panel? Curtain Wall Panel or Pattern-Based Panel.  Big difference.  

Post the family you downloaded.  

BTW: typical CW Panel dimensions are controlled by CW Grids.  That is, if the UV Spacing is 5x5, then the Panel is 5x5.

then change the CW Grid Layout/Spacing to make the Panel taller - or whatever.  Or, are you saying the panel is NOT flexing. That it's a FIXED size. If so, remove the labeled dimensions in the Family that control Height and Width.  

NOTE: this may not work either if it's a complex design. That's why it's FIXED.

Could you show me where I can do that because I do not know where??? What do you mean flexing? And I do not see HWL

There are two types in the file?  Which one do you want to change Height?

The horizontal panel

Your panel's Height is FIXED at 1102mm, but it can be any Width.  

The other one is just the opposite.  It has a FIXED Height.

You need to design the Curtain Wall Grid Layout to the Panel.  It's not going to function the same as the System Panel.

It's all about FIXED DISTANCE Grid Spacing. That's all.  Looks like you did it in the RVT you posted.  Maybe I'm misunderstanding you. What exactly are you trying to accomplish again? 

BTW: It's also about making the overall width/height of the Curtain Wall divisible by the number of FIXED width/height Panels.  Know what I mean?  

For example: if the CW uses the 1102mm FIXED Height Panel, which I showed in the screenshot above, then the Curtain Wall's Unconnected Height needs to be 1102, 2204, 3306, 4408, etc.  (e.g. 1x, 2x, 3x, 4x panel's FIXED Height).

Another approach, especially if quantification is important to you, is to model the ribs as MULLIONS in a Curtain Wall Type that uses Empty System Panels.
