hi there,

i have this roof shape 1.PNG .

i need this roof in one slope like this one Roof+Slope+Arrow.jpg curved, but when i get in shape editor mode my roof look like this 2.PNGand if i will offset one line i wont get the same image that i want. so basically i want that shape of roof with my boundary. can someone help me? or can i be done?

In such a case I'd use one of the following two methods:

  1. Mass Element and Roof gy Face - First create an extruded Mass using as basic shape your contour.Create then Void Extruded using as Work Plane a Vetrical Reference Plane ( this Reference Plane ought to have a name in order to be a valid Work Plane) . Once created the Mass Element, use  Roof by Face
  2. Roof by extrusion( or Roof by Footprint wit one slope) cutted by a Component > Model in Place >Roof - make a void -Extruded component using as Work Plane the curent Level (the extruded void component has to be hollowed with your shape profile)

my favorite method would be method 1

I 've attached here the screencasts that depict the two methods from my previous post:

1.Mass element +Roof by Face

2. Roof by Extrusion( could be also by Footprint) combined with a Void Component

if you want a helix shape roof , you can do it using Conceptual Mass to make the basic shape. Conceptual Mass allows you to work with subelements of the mass ( Edge , Surface and Points) In our case we wil use either Edge or Surface , drag them verticaly to obtain the helix.

The mass thus obtained can then be combined with a Void to obtain the desired projected shape.

If you need roof with layers and roof definition , then , once the mass finished , use Roof by Face.
