Combine Phases but remove DEMO info while doing it, How?

So we did a project a couple years ago.  Now the client wants us to do some addition work.  I would like to take all items currently in the model and move it to the Existing Phase. I can do this via the combine phases.  The problem is I want the items that were demolished in the previous project to go away.  All these items turn to Existing Phase Create and Existing Phase Demolished.  What am I missing or not doing to avoid this?

I have been messing with filters to try to isolate and delete but that doesn't work either.

Thank you for the help.

First...Make a new copy of the file so you don't mess up your old project file. Keep it as it was.

Now...Instead of combing phases, just rename the phases you've already got to something like:

Original

Previoius Project

...then add another like:

Current Project

Leave your old views alone. Make new views (duplicate old ones if you want) and set them to the Current Project phase. Set their phase filter to Previous + New. Everything in the Previous Project should now appear as existing in these new views. Get busy modeling. Make new sheets for this current project and put your new views on them.

Oh good. Glad you got it sorted out. Please select my post as the thread solution instead of your own.

I got here after I made the mistake of combining phases. Lesson learned.

THANK YOU.
