I'm modeling a generic model family that contains a detail item family.
The detail item family has 5 fill patterns: 4 diagonal patterns with different colors and 1 filled region.
My problem is: how can I control the draw order of these patterns? I want to leave the filled region behind all other patterns.
I set the background option to "transparent" for all diagonal patterns. But, this option appers blocked for the filled region (see the figure attatched).
I think that I'll solve my problem if background option could be setting to "transparent" in solid fill pattern.
I tryed to use "Send to back". But, this command seems has not effect (see the figure attatched).
Any suggestions?

both of your queries, work for me. im using revit 2016 at the moment..
would you mind to share us here that particular families you are editing. for us to check and evaluate.

I'm using the Revit 2016 Build: 16.0.428.0 20150220_1215(x64).
I posted a test file with the family instanced for you see the problem.
If I instanciated only the detail item family, then no problem. But, if I'll use this family nested in a generic model family the problem occurs. (see the files attached).
Hi Arunag!
See my response to rendermaster about my problem.
I used the "Send to back" command in family editor, but this no solved my problem.
I'm able to reproduce this behavior with default templates.
In the family, the solid fill pattern shows up behind the diagonal one, until loaded into the project at which point it shows up in front of the non-solid pattern.
I'm checking with our developers to see if this is the expected behavior (with the template/categories used).
In the meantime, I'm thinking you will need to use a different workflow to get the desired display of the detail items. I've looked at using a DWG hatch pattern, but see the same result. Have you already tried using different categories for the Filled Region families?
Note: The background parameter for the fill pattern shouldn't affect this, as it applies to non-filled areas of the pattern, this is why it is grayed out for a solid fill, because it wouldn't apply to such a pattern (i.e. there are no non-filled areas of a solid fill).
I've heard back from our developers and found that currently, the draw order of items within a family is not maintained when the family is loaded into a project. This is why the non-solid fill pattern is not visible (the solid fill regions are drawn before non-solid fill region regardless of the draw order in the family).
I tried a few options to work around this (different nesting of elements), and different backgrounds (instead of a solid fill), but the best option I've found so far is to manually draw the desired pattern using Symbolic lines within the Generic model. This seems to allow the lines to be displayed on top of the nested fill pattern.
Note: I see that the number of lines displayed does not adjust as the View Scale is changed (so you will see different behavior from what you would see with a Detail Item fill pattern).
If you draw symbolic lines within the Generic Model are you seeing the desired display (once loaded into the project)?
While researching this, I found the following thread on our Revit Ideas board:
I believe if this were implemented it would simplify the detail family, and also resolve the issue you are currently seeing (might want to vote it up further).
Thanks Lance.Coffey for your help.
I'll expected the Autodesk solve this boring problem on next realese.
I voted on the thread that you indicated.
