Circular mullion cant make a perfect joint in revit 2022

If you want an easy one .. use 2 Curtain walls

  1. First wall: With Border Mullions and Horizontal Interm ones
  2. Second wall: With only Vertical Interm Mullions

Another option is to integrate mullions in the panel but then the downsides are

  • if you are editing profile of the wall or attaching its top to a non-horizontal roof, the panels will not follow form
  • You will need more custom panels for the border tiles that has mullions nested to 3 sides only and 2 sides at the corners
  • Quantification of mullions becomes quite tedious

Alternatively, you can model the CW using a divided surface and Pattern Based Curtain Panels...You should find lots of tutorials for this method on youtube

There are several ways:

  • Model the mullions in a custom panel family, perhaps with a half mullion on all 4 sides
  • Model the curtain wall as a divided surface with pattern based curtain panels or adaptive family

They won't join, but you can overlap them.  Will that work?

Here is a YT on how to make them using pattern based (instead of a rectangular profile use a circular) but again if the border frame/mullions are not circular you will need to work on the corner and border panels + to quantify you will need to work with nested shared components and shared parameters for the mullion extrusion.

Same principle applies to the Custom Curtain Wall Panel with integrated mullion. Instead of using the Curtain Panel Pattern Based.rft template used in the below video, you would use the standard Curtain Wall Panel.rft
