Changing dimension parameters on Revit 2020

Hi there.

I just installed Revit 2020 (student version) but when I try to start a new project using an architectural template ALL dimensions, walls, windows, doors, etc are shown in inches and not in millimeters. I am in Australia and we use the metric version here.

Any idea where I should go to change this?

Kind regards

Marcio

Hi @Anonymous . What project units are you using? Look this link and check it.

Considering that this also affects the families/family templates which you have downloaded (all in imperial); you might need to consider downloading the Metric Templates from the following link and set the folder path in Revit to point to the new templates. (R>>Option>>File Location)

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/revit-products/downloads/caas/downloads/content/autodesk-revit-2020-content.html

Alternatively,

  1. Open the Imperial Template
  2. Go to Manage >> Project Units
  3. Change the units/precision...etc
  4. Save as >> Template
    •  Either overwrite the old one
    • Or save it as a new template Metric and add it to the file location in Options

does the student version not have a Metric template?

  • open Revit
  • New...
  • from the New Project window pick Browse button
  • navigate to C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\RVT 2020\Templates\US Metric

there should be a list of metric templates to pick from.
