Changing default stairs path text

Is there a way to make all new stairs to use a custom text instestead of the default UP/DN?

Yes. The trick is to delete the stair path tag which is automatically created after the finishing the Stair Edit mode (it may be fastest to create all your stair elements first, then use Select All Elements (in view or in entire project), and delete these tags). After deleting those tags, go to the Annotate Tab, and on the far right side use the tool called Stair Path. After activating this tool, look at the Properties palette and change the "Up Text" value to whatever text you want. Then place the tags on your stair elements. Even if you de-activate the Stair Tag tool, the next time you activate it, the tool will remember the "Up Text" value you last put in. This is fairly regular behavior for many tag elements.

thank, but it did not fixed the problem, it will work but the next time you put a new set of stairs the old tag will be automatically used

I figured I implied that by saying "The trick is to delete the stair path tag which is automatically created after the finishing the Stair Edit mode." So to explicitly state the answer, you are correct, there is no way to change the text of the Stair Path tag which is automatically created after a stair element is first created. If you use these automatically-created tags, you will indeed need to change the text for each of them. Thus my alternative approach.
