Change toposurface material

Hell all,

I subdivided the toposurface area so I can apply different material to different regions. The first region I tried was the driveway:

The driveway surface need to look like the porch surface. I applied the same material, but only the colour changed. I need the surface pattern too. Any idea how to achieve this?

My guess is that porch hatch is a Cut Pattern, and the View Range Cut Plane is cutting through the Porch and above the Sub Topo.  How'd I do?

This is the setup I made for the porch surface:

And it does look the way it should. I tried to apply the same material to the driveway subregion of the toposurface, but only the colour was applied. However, I also need the surface pattern to show. How can I achieve that please?

See if changing the View Scale does anything.

I tried lower values to 1 and higher values to 5000. It didn't change.

I know I  can create a floor to the shape of each toposurface subregion I need, but that is a lot of extra work! Revit provides subregion command mainly to change the surface material. Why doesn't it apply it with surface patterns? Am I doing it wrong? PLEASE HELP!

AH! TOPOSURFACE! I thought we were talking Toposolids. My bad.

Thank you.

I haven't even heard of Dynamo before, or toposolids for that matter!

Do you happen to have a code I can use that can generate a slab on the surface of Toposurface? I'm using Revit 2023.

You don't need Dynamo.

Follow these steps to create hardscape from your Toposurface Subregion:

  1. Isolate the Subregion in 3D View
  2. Export to DWG the contents of the 3D View
  3. Go to Massing & Site Tab: Conceptual Mass Panel and press In-Place Mass
  4. Go to Insert Tab: Import Panel and press Import CAD and choose the DWG created in Step #2
  5. Press Finish Mass to close out of In-Place Mass environment
  6. Go to Massing & Site Tab: Model By Face Panel and press Roof (or Wall) by Face and then select Mass Faces to host Roofs (or Walls).  Use a Roof Type or Wall Type that represents your hardscape composition.

It took several tries, but eventually it was a success! I built using Model by Face - Roof.
