Central file server location

Dear all,

I have a question regarding the central server

that we need a separate central server for revit central file?  and for example if we work in different cities so  how we setup the server for our central revit file that it run smooth not facing any problem.

Because right now we are facing a issue of slowing down while multiple users are working on a single file at a same time.

That may or may not help.

How are you having multiple users access the model now?

bigger question is how are your users in other cities not accessing the model?

If you are using a VPN or something like that, I would not recommend you continue using that.

Take a look at Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) and the BIM Collaborate Pro license. This is a much better workflow if you have users across multiple cities

Unless you are using a WAN system that explicitly supports Revit worksharing projects you are working at risk of file corruption and the inability to sync work. In the past at a minimum that meant using Revit Server. A third party WAN service like Panzura claims to support distributed Revit projects. These days it probably doesn't make financial sense to build your own infrastructure out to support Revit like this versus using Autodesk's own cloud service. You'll only know when you've done the necessary research into your own resources and compare it against Autodesk's solution.

if i have to manage the great project, i prefer to use the links and also separate project step by step,
Country,City , town, district, etc and in the end house by house.

I didn't have any country at all,but district or small part of city yes,i should see the base and project but if it's me i make workstation step by step as i said.
for highrise apartments i prefer not seperat the level, and should be all the level in one link(workstation).
