Ceiling Plan

Hi, I am using Revit 2017 and created a three-story structure.  I applied a 2 x 2 ACT ceiling but cannot see it.  I cannot even select it within the ceiling plan view.  I can see it in 3D view and select it there.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  I am very new to Revit.

It's likely view range related. You're ceiling is outside the range.

Thank you.  How do I fix that then?

Look under the instance properties for the view and open up "View Range". Chick "show" at bottom for further clarification. Keep in mind, it's kind of reverse of what you might think -- you're looking up, not down, in a ceiling plan view.

Hi, my view range is grayed out.  I cannot select it at all.

I can't even select different views at the bottom (i.e.:  realistic, etc.)

Sounds like you have a template attached to view.

...under view properties, look for View Template and set to None.

...If you are getting a little confused, it might be easier to just create brand new RCP view with the OOTB template settings. Go to View Tab: Plan Views: Reflected Ceiling Plans: uncheck "Do not duplicate existing views": and then pick the Level you want to make a Ceiling Plan from.  Then you can delete the incorrect view altogether and start afresh with the new one.

There is a View template assigned to the view. Edit the template and edit View range, or uncheck View range box in the template then you can edit it for the view.

I was definitely getting confused so I went ahead and tried to create a new one.  Still nothing is showing up.

The room I am trying to apply the ceiling to is the one on the far right with the circles within it.  I have no idea how I was able to get a ceiling detail and lighting within it but I did.

There are no areas on my first floor that is showing the RCP at all.  I can see it in 3D but that is it.

Can you cut a section and post a screen shot so we can see where the ceiling is at?

I did add attachments.  Did they not show up for you all?  If not I can do a screen shot of it.

I can see your ceiling view screenshots.  I am asking for a section screenshot, cutting through the ceiling and show the levels.

Does this help?  The ACT is highlighted in blue.
