cant get slope parameter in my family (Revit 2023)

hey all,

kinda new revit user here, (6 months)

i got a question, i have a piece for ducting i use on rooftops for ducts to pass through.

now i need to add a slope parameter but i just cant get it to work. the top side is always horizontal but the bottem varies between flat to 45 degrees

all the flanges are adjustable but when i use a slope parameter it stops working, not to mention the alignment that goes out the window.

can anyone help me to say how i should fix it,

or making it usable for me but then i would love to hear how you did it.

any tips on where to learn this stuf is highly appreciated!

Do you have R25 or just R23?

i have R25, But i need the family in R23 to use it in my project.

or the walkthrough in 25, so can incorparate it in 23

you have two asks,work your family with faces not levels,right? and change the angle to make the flat model?the first one is easy , I show you:

for another one i should know your revit version.

as answer for your question i use revit 23 in this project.

is it posible to flip it upside down?

that way i can use the lower part for the slope. the canal stays 90 degrees vertical and the top edge stays horizontal.

and what kind of family do i need to build it i? there are so many different ones to chose from.

and i see your using a formula, do you maybe know where i can find a start guide for those or something.

Using parametric angles in a Family is no joy. They always seem to fail when flexing the Family in the Family editor. But every now and then, that same Family _can_ be flexed in the Project without issue. A matter of trial and error....

Another way that doesn't involve family editing (except the sweep)...walls, thin roof and wall sweep.
