Cannot split and trim (post-demolition)infill wall

I demolished a door and revit created an infill wall automatically (which is good). I split the infill wall to trim it with a new phase wall but was unable to do so. Can anybody help with this phase dilemma? Thank you.

I'm confused. It sounds like you want to demo part of the wall as well, and replace it with a new wall. Is this right?

Yes, I want to demo part of the auto generated infill wall that appeared after I demolished the door. Is it a bad practice to demo a door?

Demo a door is a normal practice when you need to demo a door.  Steps to get what you need (if I understand you correctly):

- Demo the door

- Create a new opening to cut part of the infill wall

You can split the existing wall and get 2 infill walls in the new phase

I fail to understand how splitting the existing wall will trim the infill. It becomes two infill walls but you still need to trim one of them.

I split the wall, then demolished the part of the wall that I won't use. That solved my problem. But, maybe I didn't explain it well as English is not my first language. But, thank you all for the help.

That is an entirely a different question compare to your original one, which you asked how to trim the (new) infill wall, not the existing wall.  Glad you got it resolved.

Also, consider split the wall and demolish a segment will remove the entire wall base to top.  It's not the same as demolish the door which still keeps the wall above the header.  It depends on how you actually want to do in construction.
