Cannot Load Family Files

I'm currently working on Revit 2011 and whenever I try to put in the sidelites into the project, I get this message:

Cannot Load Family Files

Some or all of the family files you selected cannot be loaded.  You must choose the family files of the category Component.

I've tried putting the sidelite by going through Door first.  I've tried going through Component.  It gives me pretty much the same message.

I just drag and drop families from my Project Browser. So much easier - fewer steps to remember. Works like a charm for everything!

Based on his or her screenshot, I think the family is not in the project browser yet.

Thank you for your answer.

It wasn't in my project browser.  After I load the family from symbol, it worked. Thanks

it worked!

Thank you very much.

I loaded it from symbol , but the arrows are in detail items folders- div.01. General. I think that's how I got confused.

Look at your project browser. You will see the name of the family there under Families. You can drag the family onto your model.

I have the same problem with most of the stuff I'm trying to load...

Example: electrical fixtures

System tab > Device drop down > Electrical Fixture > Electrical > MEP  > Info and Communication > Security > All 5 items are unavailable

I've tried it from the Insert tab, and a few other methods

I'm wondering if it is to do with why I have no templates available...

please tell me how to solve?

Try loading them as a window.

I'm currently working on Revit 2018 and whenever I try to put the window in the curtain wall into the project, I get this message:

Cannot Load Family Files

Some or all of the family files you selected cannot be loaded.  You must choose the family files of the category Component.
