I try to cut this ridge in the family editor at 45 degree, but it just loads back in the project at its original form.

I even tried to extrude o void form and still nothing happens.

Anyone can help me as I really need to join the together on the roof?

The ridge was downloaded from the BIM object website.

The Geometry is cutting fine ... you should see that in the 3D view 

In plan view when set to coarse, you will see the nested detail item. The 2D nested detail item is not cuttable. But if you switch display settings to medium or fine you should see the cut geometry. 

You need to edit the nested 2D detail item in the family

It was cutting fine for me too, but when I uploaded in the project it the ridge is not cut

Detail Components will not be cut using void... u must have been using Medium or Fine Display settings

I edited the family and removed the detail component...use this one and add the void you need

I don't know why, but I can't cut the void out.
