Cannot Create Ceilings In RCP After Creating Beams?

Hi,

Initially creating ceilings (by "Automatic Ceiling") worked.  The boundaries of rooms were highlighted as I hovered over them and I was able to make one test ceiling.  I then went on to make beams (and beam systems) in 3D view (setting camera angle to top).  Now back on my RCP, ceilings do not show, nor are room edges highlighted when I try making a ceiling by "automatic ceiling".  It appears to highlight the whole building in red when trying automatic ceiling--the rooms are not bounded in a purple line as they were before (refer to attached Image 1).

I have not altered anything: the view range is the same as it was before (refer to attached Image 2), the view template is set to "architectural reflected ceiling plan", there's no hidden ceilings and view settings allow for ceiling objects (just not structural framing).

Note:

-I have tried making the ceiling at various heights--none of them show.

-Working on a Level 11 set to 0'; there is a Mezzanine at 8'7". The U/S of Level 12 is 16'.

Thank you in advance for any insight/help you can provide!

Can you first check that the workplane is correct as it may be linked to the beam workplanes?

Set Work Plane and make sure you have the Level selected, not something else.

Something is odd with the Ceiling's Instance Properties shown in your first screenshot. Where's "Level" and "Height Offset From Level"?

Do you have any Warnings in your Project?

Perhaps, Auditing the Project would help.

Check this Autodesk answer...

Status: No issue has been identified and the software is behaving as designed. Additional Information: The Automatic Ceiling tool has been designed to identify closed loops that are formed by walls. The tool should identify a loop that is interrupted by small gaps or by small elements, such as thin columns; but the tool may not identify loops that are interrupted by large gaps or large elements, such as thick columns.
