Cutting stairway through toposolid graded region

Hi,

I plan on removing part of a retaining wall to make way for a new stairway. The earth behind the wall will need to be cut and graded to create the 'valley' necessary for the stairs. See image below showing stairs through untouched graded region.

What is the best method considering that I need:

  1. the sides of the valley to have an accurate 1:2 slope back up to natural grade
  2. to be able to show existing and proposed contours in plan and cut/fill in section
  3. to be able to calculate net cut/fill

Thanks in advance.

Create a Graded Region Copy and shape edit the GR with the Modify Sub-Elements Tools.  Place/remove points strategically. I would lay down some Ref. Planes in Plan View.  Points can snap to these RPs in Modify Sub-Elements edit mode.

TIP: Make use of Split Line tool under Modify Sub-Elements.

Thank you. I was hoping that I could use voids and have contours update that way.
