Cannot assign a cost value to nested families and schedule them in the project

Hello, 

I have a curtain wall panel family made up of several nested families. I'd now like to assign some costs to the individual nested family components and then schedule them out from within the project. I've read a lot about making sure each nested family has 'shared' checked in the Family Category and Parameters dialogue box. But, it hasn't worked for me. I've also tried to set up a new Shared Parameter group via the Manage tab under Shared Parameters and create new shared parameters like that. Alas, I still cannot get anything to show up in a schedule from the project environment. 

Is anyone able to set me in the right direction?

What's the Category of the Shared Nested Family that has the Shared Parameter you are trying to Schedule? What Category are you creating a Schedule for in the Project?

In the project I’m creating a curtain wall panel schedule. 
The category of all the nested families is Metric Generic Model.
