Can you scale a pattern in revit non-uniformely ?

Hello,

I want to scale a pattern across one axis, ie squish it, so it represents a surface receding at an angle into the background in an elevation view.

I'm having to do some very annoying drawing patched with filled regions and need this function.

Thanks,

Not sure you can do this. If the surface is receding at an angle, when you apply your surface pattern shouldn't the pattern already be 'receding' with the surface?

Like perspective view linework? What about orienting a 3D Perspective to the Elevation?  Bada bing!  No?

I can't see how you could do this with a pattern. A pattern, by definition, is a repeated uniformity. If the pattern linework is straight, you could get there with a 2-point Adaptive Line Family snapped between 2 Divided Path Nodes points -  one in foreground and one in background - and then repeated.   The angle of the lines would be controlled by changing the length the background Divided Path or the Layout of the background Divided Path's Nodes.

Model Patterns will do this automatically (when applied to a material surface pattern, like a roof), Detail Patterns do not. Make sure you're using a Model Pattern...assuming this is model view you're working in. Drafting views are not 3D and won't "know" to do this to a model pattern since it's only a 2D drafting environment.

Hard to visualize exactly what you are describing or doing.  Love to see a screenshot of this "very annoying drawing patched with filled regions" that you did.  Might help us to help you.
