Can't select objects in plan view but can in 3D view

Not a big issue, more of an annoyance than anything, but as I'm in a plan view of my model I cant use the selection box or selection tool to select the objcects I've placed down, but when I go to a 3D view and select those objects and then go back to the plan view, the objects will be selected in the plan view. I don't know If what I'm saying makes sense, but if it does, can I change it?

Selection of elements in a plan view is influenced by the view range's Primary Range. Elements that are within the primary range of the view can be window selected. Those elements below the Primary Range and within the View Depth can't be selected with a window. Elements shown via using the Underlay settings won't work with window selection either.

Thank you for the response, but if the objects weren't already in the primary view range, wouldn't I not even be able to see them in the first place? Either way, Unless I was adjusting it wrong, I fiddled with the view range, and nothing changed. I also have never heard of underlaying so I can only assume that isn't a part of the issue, but who am I to say

Kinda off makes sense to me if you have a selection restriction applied.   Select Elements by Face.

Are the four walls on the same level as the adjacent building to the left? What discipline is the view assigned to? Phases, Design Options in use? What are your selection options set to?

A little late on the response but this comment helped figure it out.

The view was on the electrical discipline, I fixed it by switching it to the architectural or coordination discipline.

A simple fix for a simple problem, Thanks all for the help.
