Can't select family

Hi all,

I downloaded a manufacturer's revit family ( a urinal carrier) and it loads into the specialty equipment category. When I load it into plan view in the drawing I can see it but cannot select it. Also if I look at a 3d view or a section view it does not appear. Any thoughts on this behavior.

Make sure Underlay Element section is allowed. Change the view to Medium or Fine detail level see if you can see it in the 3D view.

By the way, an urinal carrier should be under Plumbing, not Specialty.  That would take care of your selection issue without activating Underlay selection.
