Can't put my project in the sheet

Every time I try, I get this huge rectangle around my project, and the text is way down bellow the project. How can I get this rectangle to be smaller? I have already set the project wih the cut region tool, but it won't work

What is that rectangle? It looks like a view title that is been used or designed inappropriately.

I'm not so sure about that. I think it is the view title that the viewport is using as I stated before. Try changing the viewport type or the view title being used by that viewport type.

that looks like the view boundary to me. the text is the probably the View Title. select the view and check the Crop View and Crop Region Visible option in the properties. then pick the Crop box and use the grips to tighten it up around your content.

then select the View Title and move it to where you want it to be.

It looks like the crop region is visible in the screen shot.

@Anonymous, you should explain what you did to solve the issue so that others can benefit from it?

If you hid the viewport, that is not a proper solution. It only covers up the problem, like putting a Band-Aid on it. The next time you use that viewport type you will have the same problem.

To anyone coming across this thread in the future:

Do not hide the viewport. Do one of the following.

- Use a viewport type that does not have a border like is shown.

- Edit the current viewport type to use an appropriate view title or none.

- Create a new viewport type that uses the correct view title or none.

- Edit the view title to something more appropriate.

@RobDraw

actually, just opened a file and double checked, if you pick the crop region and select "Hide"  (which I didn't think you could do), it unchecks the Crop Region Visible checkbox.

Do you think the OPs problem is the crop region?

Yes, view was probably set to Crop. with the  view set to Crop if the crop region is not adjusted, the view title will place wherever the bottom left of the crop region is. with the Crop Region Visible off, when you mouse over the view you would see the view port boundary. in the original image, it looked like the crop region was on (and likely being Cropped).

I disagree. It looks like the crop region is on and is located at the extents of the plan shown in the view as expected. Why would there be a blank area between the plan and the extents of the viewport?

Ah, Ok... I think I see what your saying.

I guess that is possible too. I played with it a little in one of my files and tried to get a viewport family to do that and I couldn't.  Without the file to look at well never know :-).
