Can't join roofs

Hi guys, i am trying to get these 2 roofs to join, but when i try i get an error message saying that it can not be joined. Am i doing anything wrong?

Are you using the "Join/Unjoin Roof" tool? Modify your sketch boundary to stop short of intersecting with the roof it's going to join with. Then use the "Join/Unjoin Roof" tool to make the join condition.

It doesn't need to stop short of any intersection...it just needs to stop short of being fully through the surface already.

 

AND the width of it needs to fit entirely within the joining surface. I had to cheat the floorplan a bit when I worked on that corner because it cannot join as is.

and why don't you just use one single roof for this?

That's what I was talking about in the other thread. That corner doesn't geometrically work the way the dwg file shows it.
