Hello,
I'm running into a new issue with Revit 23 that didn't seem to be a problem until today. In our interior finish schedule we typically hide the first two columns after inputting the information so they don't show on the sheet but I've discovered I can't hide the first column anymore.
If you take a look at the attached recording you can see the columns are currently hid so obviously I was able to do it before, but once I 'Unhide All' the 'Hide' option is then grayed out for the first column.
As a workaround I can change it to a hidden field but it's a little obnoxious to do that every time I want to hide/unhide, so I'm just wondering if anyone knows why this is suddenly happening?

Hi,
Looks very similar to this topic: revit-architecture-forum/can-t-quot-hide-column-quot-in-schedule/
- but the same solution as you mentioned: hidden fields

I saw that thread and I realize I could do the hidden field as a workaround option, but I just don't understand why this suddenly started happening. As shown in my attachment, the columns were hidden at the beginning so I had done it in this file before. But trying the same thing today I couldn't get it to work. It's more obnoxious to have to open the field properties and check and uncheck the hidden field as needed, so again I just want to know why this is happening now when it wasn't an issue before.
I watched your record carefully and noticed you try to hide any column and work fine but once you come to the fields column the hide not working
So I guess that's why they need the extra effort in 2023 to do it inside formating and sort by it in sort by grouping to have it stable in your file .... as why answer

Looks like you cannot hide the first column in 2023. I have the same issue.
Using schedule in 2022, this isn't an issue. It could be a bug
Your work around is put the first column as parameter you never want to hide and shift the first two parameters to next column.
I tried it in revit 2024 it works well... may be a bug or a computer issue
Try to put the fields column in the last order so you can hide it may be you can work around it ok 👌
It works me well in 2024
Accept my answer if helped you
Okay thanks for checking, I'm just going to accept it as a bug and continue with the workaround for now.
