Can't get balusters to meet stringer

I'm trying to get the balusters to meet the stringer.

The profile of the stringer is made with a simple profile family. Is there a specific family to be used for making stringers? A standard family profile has no top reference plane with which the balusters can be associated, and I suspect this is the reason I can't get this to work...

The stringer is a part of the stair and is not modelled separately.

There's a landing height adjustment for the railings on the landings.

I don't want to use 'baluster per tread' because then the balusters don't get set out properly over the length of the railing.

Maybe the Railing Offset (e,g, Offset from Path)?

Does the balusters base = host?  And zero offset?

Let's see the file. Post it here.

The base is set to host.

The offset is -18, but I just checked. Changing the offset to 0 doesn't help.

Not sure how to post the file. Only second time I'm posting something on the forum..

I'm talking about the Offset from Path.  Did you check that?

That was not 0, but is now. I've just adjusted it.

So, it was corrected via Offset from Path?

I've saved the stair separately but don't see an option for uploading a file. Where/ how can I do this?

I assume you're saying I should change those settings? What to?

When you place the railing, choose Place on Stringer instead of on Treads.

Doesn't look like it. Redrawing the railing is the only option?

No.  Just redo it.

ok. Thanks. I'll give it a shot. If it works I'll let you know tomorrow. Hopefully an 'accept solution' coming up soon.

Is this the design intent?
