Can't delete label type in annotation family

I have multiple labels in my annotation family, the visibility of which is controlled by the family type. But I need my labels to be different colors and sizes. To do this I need to create several label types. Between the beginning and end of my journey I ended up with several label types that are unused and I can find no way to remove them from the family. Selecting my label, I then edit my label and the Type Properties window opens. Once there I create my different types of color and size. But now I want to delete the types that don't have a color in their name. These label types do not appear in "purge Unused" and do not appear under families in Project Browser. Is there a solution?

If they are truly unused they should appear like below..  Can you share the family?

Open the annotation family. Click on the family types button. You should be able to delete all types from there.

Thanks! I'm an idiot. I was trying to use Purge Unused in the project to delete the label type and I should have used it in the family instead!

Hello, I have the same problem but I couldn't delete them in this way and understand the problem. Do you have any idea why it happened?

I do not know why I couldn't use delete from the family types dialog. The solution that worked for me was to Purge Unused under the Manage tab within the family itself.

Deleting the Type in the family editor will never work. It will keep the ones from the project and the family editor.

It needs to be purged. Be aware than when you do 'select all' it will not look in Legend views, so you unfortunately have to comb through those manually.
