Can't change dimension

I am creating families of pipe fittings for ductile iron. When we model our 90 degree elbows into a pipe run, we leave a gap of 3mm between the flanges.

Is there a way I can accommodate this in Revit? When I add a pipe connectors, I don't see any option such as "offset" which would cater for this.

And I can't mode the connector

Add an invisible line 3mm away constrained  with a locked dimension of 3mm - or a parametric dimension if it needs to be changeable.

I would add a couple of Reference Planes and a dimension locking them at 3mm apart.

Also maybe another dim locking them to something else.

As you place the connectors you can set to Work Plane and pick one of your added ref planes.
