Can't change color of detail item in nested window family

Hi,

I have given this a fair shake and can't figure it out, even with my half decent German. 

I am trying to turn the blue lines black. I made it into a 5th layer nested family, where I was able to override the appearance of the lines by deleting the line subcategory. But once I loaded it into the 3rd or 2nd level, the effect seemed to stop promulgating. 

Anyway I would be very curious to know what is causing this. Please note that I downloaded the family from BIMobject.

Change this subcategory under Detail Items:

I got this far, but once I loaded it into the "grandparent" it stopped appearing black.

Change it in Project Object Styles.

I'm having a similar issue where I try to change the style of these lines from solid to dashed:

which clearly works but once loaded into the project, the lines display solid again.

Project's Object styles always override Families' Object Syles.

Show a screenshot of your object styles in project.

Change the name of your family Category.

That is Windows category and subcategories.  I am asking for Detail Items.
