Call Out Not Showing in Plan View

For some reason, my call outs are not showing in plan view. I hare already checked the following:

1. Hide at scales coarser than. - not applicable to call outs.

2. Crop region.

3. Visibility/Graphics setting & View Template

They were visible before I applied the view template but even though I took it off and ensured everything was checked to be visible under visibility graphics, it is still not showing up. Does anyone know what it could be?

Did you check Filters?

Good question. There are no filters applied.

Can you post a screenshot of your Call-Out Tags Type Properties?

Looks fine. Can you run a test? Duplicate with Detailing the View and try to replicate the behavior in the Duplicate.

Just did that... it does not show up either. If I draw a new one, it does though. I can't just draw new call outs because there are too many to redo.

Interesting.  So, it's just happening in that one view.  Hmm?  Want to post the file for us to inspect?

By chance did you check to see if someone just hid them in the view?  Click the light bulb...

Are the Plan view and the Detail views under the same Phase?

Looks like the Parent View is "Floor Plan", where it was created. Callouts created as a plan and not a detail will only show in the parent view.

Yes, I checked that. They are not hidden. Call Out.PNG

Yes, they are the same phase.

That's it. I see there is also no way to switch the parent view. Thank you. I can't copy and place them on the new floor plan as another post suggested because there are too many. Instead, I will have to make the reference plan the floor plan and the floor plan the reference plan since the plan I need to see the call outs on is the reference plan. I will just change the names and move them to the appropriate sheets.

@kmfuhrman brings up a good point. Are you looking for the missing Call-Outs in the View in which they were originally created.  It looks like you created your Call-Out within another Call-Out.

Yup she was correct. What actually happened was the plan was created with the call outs. Late in the process, it was determined that the plan was too busy so a reference plan with the call outs was created via duplicate with detailing - not realizing that the original floor plan needed to be the reference plan since the call outs will only appear in the plan in which they were originally drawn. Now we know better. Thank you so much everyone for your help!

You could use Dynamo to change Parent views.

If you had scrolled down more in your properties window of a callout view, it would have shown the referencing view...

Also, you can still create new callouts, but reference the original....no need to create a new view and add all the detail and notes again.

Yes, I know I could do that also. I didn't want to do this either because there were too many call outs.

The option of creating a new view and copying the annotations was offered as a solution in another post I found before creating this thread, which is why I said I was not going to do it. Thank you though!

Great! I have Dynamo but not really sure how to use it. I will have to give it a test run one of these days soon.
