Hi,
I want to calculate the full area of a wall. Doors, Windows and Openings must be included (if above 1m² or other parameter).
The app in Exchange Apps does not work in Revit 2017.
What is the solution if I use Dynamo?
Kind regards,
Hey
Would a simple calculated value in your schedule give your desired output?
Hope this helps
Just the wall Properties should give you the information you need.....
I've tried this method. But when the wall has a small slope at the top, the formula isn't correct anymore.
@Sahay_R The area property you are referring to will change once an opening, Door or window has been placed in the wall, so it will not do what OP is asking.
@Anonymous Yeah, i didnt think of that. Maybe try the Roombook addon if you have an autodesk subs account? https://apps.autodesk.com/RVT/en/Detail/Index?id=6305900335585933581&appLang=en&os=Win64
Alternatively, I would go over to the Dynamo page at: https://forum.dynamobim.com/ and have a look through previous posts, a few people have asked similar questions and im sure there will be plenty options to choose from. If not, just post your issue on the Dynamo forum and someone will help if you ask nice enough ![]()
If you are familiar with the API or macros you may be able to get some kind of macro to give you this info but that is an area i am only just getting into so dont have much i can offer.
Sory i cant help much more, dont think you can do what you want purely withing revit.
Another workaround while you are searching for a Dynamo script or digging into Revit API:
- Create a new file
- Link the original file in
- Copy monitor all walls without openings (see settings below)
- Delete all openings
- Create a wall schedule to calculate the area
