CAD Import Visibility Issue in View Template

Hi, I've been working with Revit for over a decade now, so I'm not a newbie. I'm having an issue I've never seen before and can not figure out what is causing this.

We use View Templates for both working views and sheet views. We import CAD background for Civil File that needs to be updated now and then. I can't tell if this issue arose from a recent reload of this CAD file or not.

When in our floor plan views that use the "Floor Plan - Working" template the civil CAD background still displays even if we un-check the box under V/G Overrides Import on our working plan View Template. This action (un-checking the box) works in every other view using a different view template! In other words in any other view using any other view template we can un-check the box and the visibility of the CAD file disappears from the view (just as it should). But this particular view template for some reason will NOT remove the CAD file from the view when the V/G Overrides Import box is unchecked.

See in attached clip that all of the civil items are visible even though the visibility box is unchecked.

Can anyone offer any possible reasons for this?

The V/G Override Imports box is not checked in the View Template, meaning the template does not control it.

1. You just need to do it via the view's VG, not via the View template.

2. Or you can check that  V/G Override Imports box in the View Template and let the template control it.

I prefer the 1 because it is more flexible and accessible for working views.  View templates are more for Sheet views.

OMG! Thanks! What a stupid newbie mistake! Been working in this project too long and didn't realize someone had unchecked it.

Also, we tend to use the templates even in working views because there are a lot of newbies to Revit and in general we want almost everything to show up in working views. That way people don't go in and miss something because someone else turned it off, hid it etc. So we use fixed templates to train people to either change the template (global change not to be done often) or use the sunglasses to "temporarily" hide / isolate elements or categories.

Without taking those measures I've found that newbies tend to run amok and cause coordination issues because they don't want to see something that someone else needs to coordinate with other disciplines. In this case someone unchecked that global box.... and shouldn't have.
