Best way to do brick quoins?

I am currently putting brick quoins on some buildings in a project and wondered what the best way to do this would be?

Currently they are wall sweeps which is my preferred method over create a new component. The bricks extrude from the wall this way and it feels like they are just stuck on top of the wall instead of being part of it. Also every time I make major changes to my walls the quoins mess up using this method. Is there a better method I should be using to create these quoins?

Make wall hosted component(s) for the brick quoins. Add some size parameters, probably will need a center and edge one in your case.

Sorry I am a complete Revit noobie. Do you know of any guides on how to do this? What you have said kind of makes sense to me, however i'm unsure of how to do this in Revit.

If you want the bricks flush with wall then you can split face and paint with brick material.

@Anonymous here are some helpful links for making an array family:

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/revit-products/learn-explore/caas/simplecontent/content/applying-parametric-arrays-and-family-type-parameters.html

http://revitbeginners.blogspot.com/2014/10/family-array-basics-tips.html

If you can't get that to work for you, I'd suggest making a static family to start. Also, I'd proceed with caution when using the split face and paint method. If your wall changes and the boundary of the split face region gets messed up, Revit will delete your split face and you'll have to draw it again from scratch. A workaround is to sketch your quoins in an elevation with detail lines and then use the select line tool (tab to get the chain) and then use that for the basis of your split face sketch.

Hope this helps!
