Beam pick line method throwing error.

I'm trying to create a beam below a reference family, it's a cad file input in a generic model family. When I did pick line for the sloped reference, it says can't create. What to do? I have did this same thing before but this time it's throwing this error and I have no idea how to tackle this issue.

To those who're facing this issue, If its similar. Try setting workplane to the level you're working on like level 1,2,etc. Setting the workplane from structure tab as my floorplan before using pick line solved this issue for me.
