Automatically rehost elements for multiple rooms

To clarify, in my current project we had a change of scope so the walls will be under another firm's model (we will own the finishes, equipment, etc).  So they want us to delete our walls and link their model, which of course will delete all doors/windows/wall hosted furniture we currently have.  Is there a streamlined way to allow us to keep these intact while allowing the replacement of the walls?  Manually changing is not possible (or preferable) because we are dealing with over 1000 spaces that will be affected.  We can create a 'finish' layer to place on top of the walls but we still have the issue of rehosting.

Have you considered just moving your Walls to align with the Link's Walls?

would there be any issues with having overlapping walls(for drawings, schedules, etc) even if we hide our walls?

Issues and problems No, Not really ... that is what copy monitor does. Let's you have the same elements from the link in the same location in the host model

We do this lots of time for hosting purposes or because we need to work with wall finishes and cannot do it in the model from the other consultant. It does not make problems. Only in schedules one has to watch out for the Include elements in Linked model. This can make double quantities.

That is not really an issue. You can filter out such walls in various ways so that you wont get double count even with "include elements from link" checked
