Autodesk Revit: Wall types missing/wrong names

Some students at my school are trying to follow a video tutorial in Revit, but they get stuck because all of our installed Revit products seem to be missing some assets such as wall types.

In the tutorial the wall types have "friendly" names like "Generic - 225mm Masonry", "Interior - Blockwork 100" etc. but on all of our PCs, many wall types seem to be missing and those that are there have "technical" names, such as "Wall-Ext_215Bwk". We have tried installing Revit content packages but there's no change.

First off, Walls are System Families. Wall Types are user-defined. If an RTE or RFA has a defined Wall Type in it that you want to use in another Project, then use Transfer Project Standards to transfer the Wall Types.

These are Template driven and it could be the guidance you are referencing is a UK Template and the Template you have is a US Metric Template.  This would have been setup on install when you picked a region.

It is easy to change  - In Revit > File Tab > Options (bottom)

Then from File Locations - There is a List of all the predefined Templates (NOTE- names are different to the Template File Name)

If you click on the 3 dots in the line (...) at the end you can open up the folder where there are stored - the U.K. Templates have DefaultGBRENU

Simply set these as desired.
