Hello experts,

Can anyone please guide me how can I attach the bottom of this  dormer wall to bottom edge of main roof?

Note. I cannot bring the main roof edge ahead, as practically wall will contruct in front.

Press Attach Top/Base and then press "Base" on the Options Bar.

If Attach to Base isn't what you are after, then post the file here so I can see what needs to be done.

Copy and paste the main roof in place, extend it so that the dormer wall base can attach to it.  Then change that temporary roof to a previous phase and demolish in that exact same phase.

Thank you so much for the response.

Unfortunately I'm looking for an ETHICAL REVIT SOLUTION to achieve the wall base "extending down to bottom surface of roof" .

In the image i achieved it by editing the wall profile and it still has issue in the finishing, which will be again alternatively possible by using void extrusion. (But following this solution will lead to errors and extra work if i change the dormer shape in future)

What do you mean by "ETHICAL REVIT SOLUTION"?  Are you talking about moral philosophy?

Regarding your screenshot - I agree; that modeling looks like crap.  It's correctable though. It CAN be modeled in Revit to represent the actual construction.  It just requires an understanding of how the building components interact will each other in real life.

Post your file here so we can see exactly what needs to be done with that model to make it more "ethical".   😉
