Expanded Metal Mesh Diagonal Panel

Hi all,

I am trying to model an expanded metal mesh cladding, but don't know how to solve a diagonal cut of the cladding.

I modelled the mesh as a curtain wall panel (with the geometry from Rhino.Inside), and just repeating the panel with a set distance the size of the module I modelled (200x100mm). My problem is that the top of the wall is sloped, and I want the mesh to be cut on an angle, rather than just omitting every panel that is cut which results in a stepped top of the mesh

(see attached screenshot). Any ideas how to achieve a sloped and not stepped result?

Thanks in Advance!

P.S. I am modelling the mesh because the visual effect from an oblique angle is very specific, and I wasn't able to replicate it with rendering a PBR material.

Cut it with a Solid Mass.

Thanks @barthbradley ! Unfortunately I wasn't able to make that work, I got an error "can't cut joined elements", and nothing happened when I clicked unjoin. In any case this would be difficult to implement since I have hundreds of panels that would need to be cut in the project, and it seems like I can only cut each panel individually and not the whole wall- am I missing something here?

I think you might be missing the fact that modeling this mesh will have no BIM value and, by and large, will be useless. Maybe even problematic. I would strongly suggest using a Material with an Asset such as the stock "Mesh - Expanded Thick" for view/scales where you can actually make out the mesh weave.  For all other view scales, I would suggest using a hatch pattern or no pattern at all.  I mean, even if you were to represent the mesh weave with a simple crosshatch model pattern, it would just become a solid fill in most of the typical views.
