Attach wall to topside of roof

Hi,

I'd like to attach a wall to a roof, but I want it connected to the topside of the roof, rather than the underside.

Can this be done? How please?

Cheers!

You can edit the profile of the wall and use align or pick lines to lock the profile edge to the top side of the roof.

Do you mean like the way a dormer wall would sit on top of a roof?

Thanks loboarch,

Yes, I was aware of that solution - I'd hoped that there might be a way to
edit the attached object to top or bottom surface. But if not, that'll have
to do.

Appreciate your reply.

Cheers!

Correct, I think.

The context is a dormer, where the outer leaf of the wall is stone (or similar), with a slate roof butting up to the edge of the wall. The roof is therefore hidden behind the facade of the wall. A similar situation would be any gable with a similar construction, where the roof butts up against the outer wall.

Maybe build a very thin roof atop the normal roof, the footprint of the thin roof matches the exterior of the walls, the footprint of the roof below setback to the interior side.  Attached the wall to the thin roof and join the roofs together.

Thanks for your reply and suggestion - I was actually just considering to
do just that, with the slate portion of the roof. I think that will work
well and will match the construction well.

Cheers!
