Hi All,
What is the difference between rooms and areas? Why create an area schedule off 'areas' as opposed to using 'room' areas? Can you create a schedule off room areas?
Cheers,
Raoul (confused)

There is an explanation about rooms and area in wiki in the below link:
A room is a subdivision of space within a building model, based on elements such as walls, floors, roofs, and ceilings. These elements are defined as room-bounding.
An area is a subdivision of space within a building model, typically on a larger scale than individual rooms. However, areas are not necessarily bounded by model elements. You can draw area boundaries or pick model elements to use as boundaries.

Hi Stephen,
Thanks for that. Having thought about what I posted over the weekend I feel somewhat silly as I soon figured out the limitations of relying on rooms to define the actual areas, which would limit flexibility somewhat.
Thanks for taking the time to respond and link me to the correct wiki. I don't find the wiki help to be that helpful to be honest, it always seems to be a bit thin on info. The discussion forum on the other hand is very useful, given I have never had formal tutelage in Revit.
Cheers,
Raoul
