Arch Team having trouble syncing and opening file (BIM360 Revit 2022)

Hello,

We currently have a 2022 Revit model and are running into the issue of not being able to open the model. This has been happening once a week or more. We are getting the error that another user needs to sync before we can open it, I forget the exact wording. It doesn't matter who syncs or how many times, that doesn't resolve it. Instead we turn of one of the worksets, the unit workset in particular. When this is done prior to opening the model we are able to get into it. Our model has quite a few links, it's a multifamily building that has quite a few links (12?) which are the unit links (each apartment layout) and are all on the Unit workset. The model and links are hosted to BIM360 if that makes a difference. I've also tried archiving the main model and deleting from BIM 360 (not links), doing an audit and purge and reloading it to BIM 360. That seemed to help for a week but then this error happened again. Any thoughts or advice would be much appreciated.

There are Link instance's workset and Link type's workset.  Have you verified both and make sure they are not checked out?

I went through and made sure all those were on the same workset and sunk. I do think one of the worksets was checked out but that doesn't really explain why when someone syncs and have all the boxes checked to relinquish everything, another person still wouldn't be able to sync? I'm not sure it will fix the problem but my fingerers are crossed.  I may end up removing all the unit files from BIM 360, auditing, purging, and reloading them.

Maybe try to clear Collaboration Cache.

Thanks, we did remove all the unit files, audit and purge, and reupload them to BIM360. Since then we have been smooth sailing. If it happens again I'll try clearing the collaboration cache first.

Although Revit error message can seem meaningless a lot of times, they often have clues that can lead you to a solution. Next time, remember the EXACT wording. One word can be the difference between finding the solution and spit-balling until something works.

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.
