Annotative Text Scaling

Is there a way to create annotative text within a family that does not scale when loaded into the project?

I have created a "Generic Annotations" family and want to nest this into a family which will then be loaded into a project.

But your Views are scaled. Sheet aren't.  

Maybe you mean something like Model Text? Still scales though.

No, it must be created at annotative text because the text must only be visible in plan view and not 3D view...unless there is a way to hide model text in 3D view and have it be visible in plan view only?

You can set up visibility states a number of ways for every single element in Revit.  

...I'm still not clear on what you mean by "annotative text that does not scale".  Can you elaborate?

Create model text in a category you don't use often so that you can turn the entire category off in project.  Nest it in your family and associate the label.

When I say "annotative text that does not scale", I mean I want the text's font size to stay the same when loaded into the project even when the drawing / project scale is changed. In other words, I don't want the font size to adjust based on the project's scale.

If you see in the two images I have attached, the first image (Annotative Text Size in Family) shows the font size that I want, but when it is loaded into the project (see image: Annotative Text Size in Project) the font size changes because the scale of the view is different than that of the view in the family. I don't want the font size of the annotative text to change when the view scale is changed.

Hopefully that makes more sense!

Looks like a very, very small component -- or a very, very large font.  How big would the font be when printed? Less than 1/16".  That's our smallest.  

Anyways: Model Text is what you want -- if it ain't microscopic.

I forgot to mention also that the text must only be visible in plan view and not 3D view (just as with symbolic lines).  In the Family Element Visibility Settings, it only gives the option of hiding the element in 2D view, but I need it to do the opposite. 

Is it possible to have model text only visible in plan view and not 3D views?

You could assign the Model Text to an Object Style Subcategory and just turn that category off in the View.

Unfortunately, I need to have the geometry's (model text) visibility controlled within the family so that when it is loaded into the project it automatically becomes hidden in the project's 3D views but not its plan view. Is it possible to do this?

 So the default is not visible in 3D?  I can't think of a way you could do this.  I can think of way to simplify it. Use a Template and  apply it to your 3D views in the Project.

@Anonymous: Do you actually need this to be TEXT.   I mean, if it's static and doesn't change, you could create Text in AutoCAD, Explode it, Import it into Revit, Explode it and Convert it to Symbolic Lines.   Just a thought.
